DJI Neo vs. DJI Flip: which is the best drone for beginners?
DJI has introduced, just a few months apart, two drones designed specifically to meet the needs of beginner pilots: the DJI Neo and the DJI Flip .

DJI has produced two drones weighing under 250 grams that are able to capture images and make use of advanced technology that, until a few years ago, was unimaginable on a harmless drone. In this article in particular, we look at the differences between the DJI Mini 3 and the DJI Mini 3 Pro.
If you need to choose a low-risk aircraft that can be flown without a license, today the choice mostly falls on either the Mini 3 or the Mini 3 Pro, and here the question arises naturally: does it really change that much from one drone to the other? Is it worth stepping up to the Pro version? Or can you settle for just the Mini 3?
THE COMPARISON
Let's start from the premise that the DJI Mini 3 and DJI Mini 3 Pro drones look very similar: both are foldable drones with a compact, lightweight design and come from the same Mini series. What really makes the difference on the hardware side is the sensor system: the DJI Mini 3 only has downward-facing sensors, while the DJI Mini 3 Pro has tri-directional obstacle sensing.
In no-wind conditions, on the other hand, the flight time difference between the Mini 3 and the Mini 3 Pro is only 4 minutes, surprisingly in favor of the Mini 3. The DJI Mini 3 Pro, in fact, has a flight time of about 34 minutes, unlike the DJI Mini 3 which has a flight time of 38 minutes.
The camera is very similar on both aircraft. The Mini 3 has a 1/1.3" CMOS camera with a 48-megapixel sensor capable of recording in 4K at 30 fps. The Mini 3 Pro's camera has the same features but can reach 60 fps in 4K, and both are able to shoot in vertical mode.
In terms of transmission signal, the Mini 3 Pro offers higher quality, as it is equipped with the new DJI O3 system, while the Mini 3 has the DJI O2 system, although there are no other notable differences between the two remotely piloted aircraft.
As for price, comparable bundles of the DJI Mini 3 cost about €200 less than those of the DJI Mini 3 Pro, not to mention that the DJI Mini 3 Pro has no included combo bundles, which would have to be purchased separately in the exclusive Fly More Kit.
WHICH OF THE TWO DRONES IS WORTH BUYING?
In conclusion, the two drones are not so different after all. If you intend to buy a drone with more safety systems, such as advanced sensors and the new DJI O3 transmission, the DJI Mini 3 Pro is definitely the right choice; but if you simply want an excellent harmless drone, since the camera and flight time show no significant differences between the two aircraft, and also considering the possibility of including the combo packages (with additional batteries and propellers), the DJI Mini 3 is in this case the best solution in terms of value for money.
