In the past, shooting from above was difficult, complicated and expensive. Until just a few years ago, to take photos from above you had to rent an expensive private plane, load all the equipment and shoot the desired subject in person. Today, with new technologies, shooting from above is extremely simple, safe, fast and affordable!
The first mentions of the use of tools for shooting from above date back to the beginning of the last century. The first aerial photos were taken in France in 1858, aboard a hot-air balloon. The pioneer was called Nadar (Gaspard-Félix Tournachon, 1820-1910), a pioneer of photography and above all of aerial photography.
During the First and Second World Wars, aircraft were sent out to photograph enemy installations and prepare countermeasures. During the Cold War, huge budgets were even allocated by states to build extremely powerful, ultra-technological aircraft capable of taking photos from above at thousands of metres of altitude.
Thanks to the evolution of science and technology, shooting from above has become easier and easier. Today, for example, various systems are used to achieve fantastic results:
Because they save you from carrying bulky ladders and step ladders, thus helping you save on renting expensive equipment (e.g. cranes or hoists). This way, using our 5-metre photo poles, you can take photos even in strong wind in complete safety. Moreover, both with the pole and, above all, thanks to our drones, it is possible to take fantastic photos while keeping your feet firmly on the ground, something you otherwise couldn't do. Let's see why:
Taking photographs on board an aircraft: what a fantastic thrill! Flying over a building, surveying an area, having a pilot at your side. But at what cost? Taking photos from an ultralight (or a helicopter) carries a considerable cost. Moreover, if the day is not so clear, you risk running into annoying turbulence. The result? Blurry photos, an incredible sense of nausea, an empty wallet.
Certainly an excellent result, but at what cost? And how long ago were those images taken? Getting high-resolution satellite photos comes at a considerable cost, sometimes several thousand euros. And perhaps the same effect could have been achieved with a different system.
The Aerialclick systems let you capture images by locking your camera at different heights thanks to very lightweight fibreglass telescopic poles, without using other complex systems, and at the same time see from the ground what your camera is actually framing from above by pressing a single button and without worrying about anything else.
In the case of drones, aimed at users who are more experienced both in photography and in radio-controlled aircraft modelling, it is still possible to take photographs from an even greater range, as well as shoot aerial footage over very large areas. Thanks to Aerialclick you can also learn how to use all these tools with simple free guides and the support of our technicians, experts in both photography and aerospace engineering.
