AerialClick and ITS Aerospazio Puglia: the collaboration continues

The collaboration between Aerialclick and the Fondazione ITS aerospazio Puglia, which continues after about three years, is aimed at training “Senior Technicians for Mapping, Inspection and Surveying with drones”.

The new students enrolled in the 2021 academic year have just started their second year after completing their practical experience at companies. But how did their training unfold?

The course

The lessons were started by our CEO and engineer Gaetanocosimo Massari, introducing various topics, starting with geolocation and flight planning, moving on to data processing and analysis, and concluding with field surveys, in which the students took part first-hand in the practical execution of the operations.

Thanks also to the collaboration of the Oria Flight Field (Alipuglia), the students were able to learn all the steps to follow when carrying out a field survey.
To do this, of course, it was necessary to teach them the essential knowledge to always stay up to date on the UAS regulations of ENAC and EASA (the bodies that issue aviation regulations in Italy and the European Union, including for drones).

In short, the students are satisfied with their course of study and with having had hands-on experience of flight operations, but not only that: as mentioned earlier, the trainees have just completed an initial internship period totalling 300 hours, which will be supplemented next year with another 700 hours of internship, and some of them will also be present at our company during the training phase.

The purpose

This allows the students not only to take part in further surveys and processing work, but also to develop an awareness of what it actually means to be part of a company (considering above all that many recent graduates are having their first work experiences).
At the end of the second year of training, ITS graduates will be able to choose whether to join local companies or perhaps start their own business.

Offering new opportunities to the protagonists of the near future has always been one of the cornerstones of our company, based on training and on growing cultural and strictly personal skills in the field of drones.
