The fight against Covid-19 is also powered by drones: we rarely think about it, but in the global fight against the pandemic these devices have a lot to offer.
They have proven to be important tools against the pandemic in various effective ways, allowing public officials to carry out essential work efficiently and from a safe distance. The Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual in particular has proven able to assist first responders in their vital tasks of crowd monitoring and detecting unsafe activities, including broadcasting information and messages through in-flight loudspeakers.
Drones are thus becoming life-saving tools.
Not only in Italy, but in many other European countries such as Germany, Austria and Belgium, drones are increasingly being deployed to monitor whether their populations are complying with quarantine and the strict lockdowns imposed in the fight against Covid-19.
In Italy and Ireland too, drone technology to curb the spread of the coronavirus is being increasingly tested, using these vehicles to deliver medicines, insulin, and also food to remote, hard-to-reach locations or to particularly vulnerable people.
All of this, of course, in conditions of extreme safety.
THE MOST USEFUL DRONES IN PANDEMIC SCENARIOS
Two drones can prove useful in such contexts, also in view of the new red zones established from 15 March 2021: the Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual and the Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced.
• The first of the two, with its thermal camera, proved particularly valuable in Spain for measuring the temperature of potentially infected people without anyone having to approach them. And this is just one example that clearly shows how drones can offer alternatives to potentially life-threatening challenges.
The Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual is in fact a portable industrial drone equipped with powerful side-by-side visual and thermal cameras that give commercial pilots a reliable tool to work better, more safely and faster in difficult environments. It has a compact design like all drones in the Mavic series, with advanced accessories and controls. Developed with FLIR Systems, the Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual allows you to carry out immediate surveys, measure temperatures, and store data and images for reports and analysis.
• The Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced drone is no less capable.
Extremely versatile and compact, it packs many performance upgrades that let you capture accurate details on any mission. It carries very high-resolution thermal and visual cameras and supports up to 32x digital zoom, making it possible to achieve centimetre-level positioning accuracy with the RTK module.
Thanks to its advanced dual cameras you can expand your view, quickly identifying objects on site thanks to the M2EA's integrated high-resolution thermal sensor, which supports Spot Meter and Area Measurement.
The zoom in to Stay Safe feature is outstanding.
It can capture sharp images and video from a safe distance, making it a particularly effective tool in targeted operations against the Covid-19 pandemic that the whole world is called upon to fight. The M2EA's high-resolution visual camera supports ultra zoom, capturing every tiny detail.
In the fight against Covid-19, drones can effectively help humanitarian workers improve the effectiveness and quality of their interventions.
Mapping; delivery of medicines and essential goods in places where social distancing must be respected; support for monitoring and damage assessment are activities we once would have considered science fiction, yet today, in emergency conditions, they have proven possible thanks to the use of drones.
