How to make a drone safe... and fly with peace of mind!

Technology at the service of drones for absolute safety

Drones are increasingly conquering the market. Of all types and sizes, from tiny ones used purely for fun to larger ones for real aerial work, drones have become an ever greater part of our lives.

How safe are these fantastic machines at the moment?

The biggest risks when using a drone

Not all drones are 100% safe. And especially when operating in urban areas, safety is essential. An object weighing over 2 kg falling from a height of over 70 metres can cause very serious damage.

Some causes of failure that lead the aircraft to fall are:

  • Failure of a motor (especially on models with fewer than 4 motors)
  • Failure of a propeller
  • Presence of a non-advanced flight control system such as the NAZA or APM found on our Drone Hunter
  • Absence of a parachute able to save the drone from unwanted failures

Now, thanks to technological progress, it is possible to save a drone and avoid a problematic failure in a really simple way and without spending a fortune.

What are the ways to make your drone incredibly safe?

Making a drone completely safe without spending a fortune, and reducing risk factors, is actually very feasible. Here are some rules to make your drone reliable:

  1. Adopt drones with at least 6-8 rotors
  2. Fit propellers reinforced with carbon fibre
  3. Use advanced ballistic parachutes (such as the MARS) able to keep the drone from crashing in case of catastrophic failure
  4. Adopt advanced flight controllers (flight control) such as NAZA or APM, able to respond to any disturbance and even to machine anomalies
  5. Buy a drone designed by a specialised company and not by 'Sunday assemblers'.
  6. A matter of common sense… don't fly over gatherings of people, Murphy's law is always lurking.
  7. Always carry out maintenance on your drone and keep a record of how and how much it has flown.

By following these simple rules, the risk of damage to your drone drops practically to zero.

Your drone will thank you and you will live and fly with greater peace of mind!

And you? What do you do to make your drone ever safer? Let us know!

Until the next flight!
