We have talked many times about which industries increasingly, and now almost unavoidably, need skilled drone pilots. From construction to filmmaking, from real estate sales to mapping, and so on.
Today, however, we want to be more specific, and we have found for you real job opportunities: genuine offers from major companies looking for drone pilots.
The job offers we are going to show you today suit different levels of experience, ages and ambitions, and they are also great opportunities to advance your career, test yourself in international environments and earn a good amount of money (they are all well-paid positions).
These calls are often also featured in our Paper magazine: "The UAV pilot daily", which we recommend reading for daily updates on drone technology, or you can simply follow us on Twitter!
The first offer we want to share with you comes precisely from Twitter and paper.li (scroll to the end of the article for the list of sites where you can apply for each of these positions).
UPG has been operating for over a century in surveying and geospatial technology solutions for the mining sector, topographic surveys, construction, transport and logistics, as well as waste management and environmental services. The Melbourne office and its close-knit, multicultural team are looking for a new RPAS operator who, after a training and induction course, will join their surveying and mapping activities.
The annual salary offered is between 55,000 and 69,999 Australian dollars.
If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere, it's up tp you!
If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere, it all depends on you!
says the famous song "New York, New York"! You can prove your worth as an aerial photographer and video maker in the Big Apple by answering the ad from Cablevision, a lively and independent American communications company. The broadcaster is looking for a video operator to join the team of editors and reporters who fill the schedule every week with interesting reports and features. The person sought is not just an operator: they must be an active and charismatic personality able to coordinate several pilots, who can be a leader while always being eager to learn new techniques from colleagues. Experience in photo reportage and documentary video is an extra winning card for this position.
Have you ever heard of Cape Productions? It is a fast-growing American company that has quintupled its workforce within its first year of operation. Specialising in extreme sports videos in North America and New Zealand, it is looking for a new team member to shoot drone footage at the most important ski resorts in the USA and New Zealand. It is a seasonal position, suitable for young people who want both an interesting formative experience abroad, specialising in the use of their own drone, and a dynamic entry into the working world, remaining available to the staff for other internal needs during breaks from filming. To be clear, we recommend applying to those who do not yet have an established business but want to work, challenge themselves, learn new things and travel.
If your profile is a bit higher and, besides knowing the world of drones as a pilot, you are also an electronic engineer and/or programmer, you might be tempted by the offer from a company valued at ten million dollars, a leader in the drone sector. The open position in Palo Alto offers 100,000 dollars for an engineer who can join its team, which over the coming years will build a series of apps devoted entirely to the world of drones.
