We have already written several times about the reasons why quadcopters and the operators legally able to use them are gradually becoming indispensable in many professional fields and sectors.
Now, those who work in construction and run a building company also need certified SAPR operators on their staff.
The first to notice were entrepreneurs in Pennsylvania (USA), who, thanks to the help of drone pilots equipped with the latest-generation quadcopters and hexacopters and able to use 3D mapping software, were able to map entire construction site areas in detail, saving on costs and above all on time.
But it is not only our American colleagues who have sensed the importance of drone pilots in the construction sector: right now the Nord Sardegna construction site is launching a course, aimed mainly at students of technical institutes in the area, to meet the demand for SAPR operators in construction across the whole area.
This attention from the construction sector towards drone pilots, which perhaps arrived a little late compared to other fields, should not come as much of a surprise; just think that, on the site of a road under construction, a drone flight provides real-time excavation volumes, cross-section profiles, soil fill quantities and any other information that cannot be obtained with the same speed and precision.
But it is certainly not only construction entrepreneurs who are interested in having certified drone pilots on their staff: small and medium-sized surveying companies or an aerial photogrammetry firm can also, thanks to a drone and an experienced pilot, complete in half a day a job that with traditional methods would take at least a couple of days (in favourable weather conditions).
