Technology, training, experience: we are getting ready for the 1st Open Day “Drones for Security”

Archive article. News from 2025: the event it discusses has already taken place.

Only a few days remain until the 1st Open Day “Drones for Security”: on June 14, the Angelo D’Arrigo airfield in Calatabiano will host a day entirely dedicated to the operational use of drones in the public security sector.

Preparations are under way to welcome operators and law enforcement representatives who want to explore the use of drones as a strategic tool in surveillance, monitoring and intervention activities. It will be a valuable opportunity to combine technology, training and hands-on experience, offering a concrete view of the application potential of UAS (SAPR) in operational settings.

What awaits you on June 14

During the day, after an introduction to drone-supported security topics, the main types of UAS currently available will be presented, from multirotor drones to fixed-wing vertical take-off (VTOL) models, illustrating their operational characteristics and ideal deployment scenarios.

Ample space will be devoted to professional training, with practical guidance on how to navigate the different categories of courses, based on the real operational needs of law enforcement. A useful moment to understand which training path to take depending on the different fields of application and the regulations in force.

In the afternoon, participants will be able to watch practical flight demonstrations with professional drones, including DJI Mavic 3T, Aerialclick AC50 and other DJI-branded aircraft. It will also be possible to take part in the "Try it yourself" session, with flights assisted by qualified instructors, to directly experience the operational capabilities of drones and become familiar with flight techniques.

An event designed for those who work in the field every day

The Open Day has been designed not only as a demonstration day, but as a genuine opportunity for discussion, training and updating, aimed at meeting the concrete needs of those engaged daily in public security activities.

The day will end with a Q&A session and the final draw for a DJI NEO: the lucky winner will go home with a versatile and reliable tool, perfect for approaching the world of drones for the first time!

Participation is free. If you would like to join us, we invite you to book your place by clicking here. We will be delighted to welcome you!
